The Northwest Washington Electrical Industry JATC (NWEJATC), through a project of the U.S. Department of Labor and the Electrical Training ALLIANCE, has begun its first electrical pre-apprenticeship program. A pre-apprenticeship is a program designed to prepare individuals to enter and succeed in a registered apprenticeship program. Pre-apprenticeship may be a good fit for individuals who have little or no experience in construction. The NWEJATC Pre-Apprenticeship program serves populations who have been historically underrepresented in the electrical industry such as: minorities, women, veterans, spouses of veterans, persons with disabilities, and persons with income below 185% of the federal poverty guidelines. This opportunity is provided at no cost to the participants.

The Northwest Washington Electrical Industry JATC Pre-Apprenticeship Program is a 240-hour program plus 80-hours of on-the-job training:

• 240 hours of unpaid classroom and lab instruction occurs at NWEJATC Training Center 
• 80 hours of paid on-the-job training occur per contractor job-site schedule, at job-sites throughout the NWEJATC’s jurisdiction: Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Island, and 

      San Juan Counties. The wage will equal the starting apprenticeship wage.

Currently there are no open Pre-Apprenticeship classes.
