Inside Wiremen perform the installation and maintenance of electrical systems for commercial buildings such as schools, offices, retail stores, medical centers, and warehouses; industrial projects such as oil refineries, paper mills, power plants, and manufacturing plants; as well as public works projects such as street lighting and water treatment plants.

Types of system installations include: electrical power and lighting, power distribution and metering, motor control, instrumentation and process control, building automation and energy management, and power generation - both conventional and alternative/renewable energy.

Requirements to complete the program are a minimum of 8,000 hours of supervised on the job training, satisfactory completion of the four (4) year Inside Wireman course material and acquisition of a Washington State General Journeyman Electrician license.

The classroom training is held during the day for forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday, in 1-week sessions spaced throughout the school year of September through July. All apprentices attend at least 6 class sessions per school year. The apprentices can receive unemployment benefits while attending day school from the Employment Security Department. We have a training center in Mount Vernon for the west side and a training site in E. Wenatchee for east side apprentices.
